Kat's June Beauty Favorites

Throughout the month of June, I had the pleasure of being able to try new things. Between travelling and sampling, I’ve come up with a list of products that have left me wowed.

Bath and Shower

Coffee Exfoliating Scrub: A good exfoliator is your best friend all throughout the summer season. It’s necessary for cleansing before shaving or while showering. To be honest, I’ve never been a big fan of exfoliants, so I was hesitant to pick this one up. Nevertheless, I’ve always been very fond of coffee scrubs, so I decided to give it a try and ended up loving it. The smell is an immediate pick-me-up, especially for those tough mornings. In addition, coffee beans are completely natural. The beans, being a main ingredient, tells me that the product doesn’t include harsh chemicals. It is vital that your exfoliant exclude such chemicals because they could damage both new and old skin cells.

Lush’s Tisty Tosty Bath Bomb: I must admit that I’ve used this product many times in the past. Nonetheless, I keep coming back to it. My favorite aspect of the product is that it is the perfect mix of childhood wonder and adult maturity. The bath bomb is fun and fizzy, something that appeals to a younger market. Yet, it showcases a certain elegance and adulthood through hints of rose and jasmine. I like that I can be both energized and relaxed using Tisty Tosty. Such feelings are what draw me back every time.

Beauty Protector Protect & Detangle: Of all the products on this list, this one is my absolute favorite. This spray is the complete package. Not only is it a fabulous leave-in conditioner, but it also protects from elements such as heat, UV rays, color damage, and other influences that could damage your hair. The formula is simple and sweet, and can be used on either wet or dry hair. Anyone of any hair type could (and should) use this because of its versatility. I HIGHLY recommend it.

Skin

Elemis Herbal Lavender Repair Mask: Finding a mask for sensitive skin is a challenge. Not only do you have to find the perfect mix of moisturizing and cleansing, but you also have to check the ingredients list to determine whether the mask will be appropriate for you. The Elemis Repair Mask is the only mask I currently own because I enjoy it so much. With lavender as the main ingredient, the formula is naturally hydrating and soothing. However, combined with the forces of kaolin (a type of clay), the mixture is able to completely refresh my skin’s complexion. I use this product once a month, just to brighten and revitalize my face.

Lush’s Dream Cream: During the summer, exposure to UV and high levels of heat tend to cause skin to dry out. Lush’s Dream Cream combats dry and flakey skin with a rejuvenating punch. The product consists of products such as chamomile, olive oil, and cocoa butter, all of which are extremely moisturizing. About one scoop can provide full body nourishment for almost 3 days. I always apply this product after I get out of the shower. This leaves my body feeling fresh and smooth for the next day.

Supergoop!® Everyday Sunscreen with Cellular Response Technology SPF 50: I’ve used many face sunscreens in the past, but this one has to be one of my favorites. The product is extremely lightweight. It has a thin, paint-like texture that allows it to be easily distributed onto any face. The levity of it also adheres to people with sensitive skin, such as myself. With past sunscreens, my skin would break out due to heavy coverage. Supergoop is the solemn exception to this common situation. In fact, the SPF 50 prevents spots by having proper protection over ultraviolet rays.

Makeup

CLINIQUE High Impact Mascara: When I look for mascara, I’m not looking for any volumizing or lengthening formulas. I was luckily born with exceptionally long eyelashes. However, my eyelashes are slightly blonde, which leaves them looking pretty much invisible. Therefore, when I’m searching for a new product, I look for one that is mainly darkening. I never would have expected CLINIQUE to give me such a life-changing luxury because, generally, I don’t like CLINIQUE as a company. Their line of beauty supplies leaves me underwhelmed, and, frankly, disappointed. Still, I’m impressed with the High Impact Mascara and how it has worked on me.

Cover FX Custom Enhancer Drops: Every person who has ever done makeup knows the importance of an AMAZING highlighter. The Cover FX Enhancer Drops have upped my highlight game to a completely new level. I have a soft spot in my heart for liquid shine, and this does not disappoint. I can barely express to you how strong the glow is. You can also use the drops below your foundation to warm up your skin tone. For pale skinned people, such as myself, this can be a lifesaver for your summer makeup look.

Lancôme Teint Idole Ultra Long Wear Foundation: Speaking of pale, this product has given me faith in the makeup industry again. When it comes to finding a foundation, it is obnoxiously hard for me to pinpoint an accurate color. I’m very pale, almost porcelain, with bright pink undertones. This leaves my skin looking like I’m in a constant state of blushing. Most makeup companies don’t make skin products for pink-toned people. The largest majority of coverups appeal to those with yellow undertones. Lancôme is a trailblazer for people like myself. You can cover up any blemishes while keeping your slightly rosy cheeks. The formula is also significantly lighter than other foundations, so less breakouts are expected.

The month of June has been one of my favorites in terms of discovery, and these are just a few of my many personal suggestions. In the end of it all, these are just some products that can enhance your look and leave you shining like the bright summer sun.
